  "Description": "Query functions to the GPlates <https://www.gplates.org/>\nDesktop Application and the GPlates Web Service\n<https://gws.gplates.org/> allow users to reconstruct past\npositions of geographic entities based on user-selected\nrotation models without leaving the R running environment. The\nonline method (GPlates Web Service) makes the rotation of\nstatic plates, coastlines, and a low number of geographic\ncoordinates available using nothing but an internet connection.\nThe offline method requires an external installation of the\nGPlates Desktop Application, but allows the efficient batch\nrotation of thousands of coordinates, Simple Features (sf) and\nSpatial (sp) objects with custom reconstruction trees and\npartitioning polygons. Examples of such plate tectonic models\nare accessible via the chronosphere\n<https://cran.r-project.org/package=chronosphere>. This R\nextension is developed under the umbrella of the DFG (Deutsche\nForschungsgemeinschaft) Research Unit TERSANE2 (For 2332,\nTEmperature Related Stressors in ANcient Extinctions).",
